Assistant House Manager
Job overview
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Assistant House Manager to join our client’s household in West London.
The Assistant House Manager will be responsible for assisting the House Manager in overseeing the daily operations and administrative tasks of the Principal’s residence. This role requires exceptional organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage staff effectively.
Job duties:
Travel and Logistics Management:
- Arrange and coordinate all travel arrangements for the Principal and their family, including flights and accommodation
- Maintain detailed itineraries and ensure all travel arrangements are well-organised and efficient
- Coordinate logistics for special events and trips, both domestically and internationally
Staff Management:
- Assist the House Manager in recruiting, training, and supervising household staff
- Coordinate staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for all household tasks and events
- Monitor staff performance and provide guidance and support as needed
- Collaborate with the House Manager to maintain a positive and productive work environment
Administrative Support:
- Handle general administrative tasks, including managing correspondence, filing, and record keeping
- Maintain household inventories and ensure necessary supplies are stocked
- Coordinate maintenance and repairs of household equipment and facilities
- Handle financial matters, such as processing invoices and managing budgets
Event Coordination:
- Assist in planning and organising special events, parties, and gatherings hosted by the Principal
- Coordinate guest lists, invitations, and RSVPs for events
Candidate must be/have:
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within a private household / on yacht
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work irregular hours and weekends when necessary
- Previous experience managing staff is desirable
- A high level of discretion and confidentiality is essential
Accommodation
Not provided as this is a live-out role.
Hours
Full time, Monday – Friday. With occasional weekends, as and when required.
Location
Holland Park.
There may be occasional travel to the Principal’s additional properties in Europe.
Salary
Up to £50,000, depending on experience.
