Daily Nanny
Overview
A wonderful opportunity for an experienced Daily Nanny, for two children – a new born and toddler – has arisen in Istanbul, Turkey.
The position involves working in a shared care capacity with a newborn baby (born in December 2024) and a four-year-old girl. The Nanny will support both children’s development, work closely with the Mother, and help create a nurturing environment during this significant time of change.
The family is seeking a professional, degree-educated, fluent English-speaking Nanny who can provide a calming presence while managing the active demands of a busy four-year-old. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of child development, as well as the ability to adapt to the unique needs of both a newborn and a toddler.
A separate, fully furnished apartment will be provided for sole use by the Nanny in Ulus Etiler, conveniently located near the family home. This offers both privacy and ease of access to the family when needed.
Job duties
Responsibilities of the Daily Nanny for Newborn and Toddler in Istanbul, Turkey include:
- Providing high-quality care for the newborn baby, including feeding, sleep routines, and developmental milestones, whilst maintaining a safe and nurturing environment
- Assist the mother with care for the newborn during school hours (09:00 – 14:00), including engaging in age-appropriate activities and supporting the baby’s early development
- Accompanying the four-year-old to activities, playdates, and groups, ensuring she feels supported and engaged
- Plan and organise age-appropriate activities for both the newborn and the toddler, focusing on the baby’s milestones and ensuring the older child is also receiving educational play and emotional support
- Support the four-year-old girl in her transition to becoming a big sister, ensuring she feels secure and included
- Prepare for travel and accompany the family on at least one annual trip, usually to the UK, ensuring smooth transitions and comfort for both children during travel
- Maintain a respectful, positive, and flexible approach within a fully staffed household, communicating effectively with other household staff
- Perform light cooking and laundry tasks for personal use (e.g., for the children)
Candidates must be/have:
- Experience with both newborns and toddlers within a high-net-worth private household
- A highly trustworthy, hardworking, and responsible individual, with the ability to take initiative and manage the children’s care independently
- A strong sense of cultural respect and sensitivity, understanding the importance of adapting to and supporting the family’s values, traditions, and customs
- A solid educational background, ideally a degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, with a deep passion for child development
- Ability to work collaboratively in a shared care setting with the mother, ensuring the newborn’s needs are met while supporting the family dynamic
- Fluent in English, with excellent communication skills, and able to provide developmental updates to the parents
- A British or EU to facilitate visa sponsorship for working in Istanbul
- A commitment to working with the family for a minimum of two years, ensuring continuity of care and fostering a strong relationship with the children
Accommodation
A fully furnished apartment within a gated community (Ulus Etiler) will be provided for the Nanny’s sole use.
The Nanny may take lunch and dinner breaks at the apartment and have personal time when not required by the family.
Hours
Monday to Saturday, 08:00 – 20:00.
Must be available to assist as and when required during the day.
Location
The family is based in Istanbul, Turkey, within a secure, gated community (Ulus Etiler).
Approximately two trips a year – one within Turkey and one to Europe.
Salary
£55,000 to £70,000 net, depending on experience and prior earnings.
The family will pay taxes on the Nanny’s behalf.
