Home Manager/Family Assistant
Overview
A dynamic and down-to-earth family of seven is seeking a fun, proactive, and capable Live-in or Live-out Home Manager/Family Assistant to become a valued and long-term part of their household near Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.
With five children between ages of 10 – 15 attending three schools, multiple schedules, and plenty of moving parts, this is a role for a highly organised and adaptable individual who genuinely enjoys family life and is confident juggling responsibilities across both childcare, housekeeping and home management.
Start date: ASAP.
Job duties
Responsibilities of the Home Manager/Family Assistant near Cheltenham, Gloucestershire include:
- Working closely with parents to manage the schedules and logistics of five busy children
- General household organisation including laundry, grocery shopping, stock management, and managing the cleaner
- Preparing healthy, home-cooked family meals
- Overseeing school pick-ups and after-school routines
- Caring for the family dog and additional pets, including occasional dog walking/feeding
- Providing a helping hand across the home, stepping in wherever needed to keep everything running smoothly
Candidates must be/have:
- Demonstrable recent experience managing a fast-paced family home with multiple children, ideally aged 10 and above
- Maximum 45 minute commute from the family home (if working on a live-out basis)
- Be fun, positive and energetic – someone who brings joy and calm to a busy household
- Be a confident self-starter who thrives in a varied role
- Show flexibility and a ‘muck-in’ approach to both routine and unexpected tasks
- Hold a full, clean driving licence and comfortable driving in rural areas
- Be confident with animals and happy to assist with their day-to-day care
Accommodation
This is a live-in or live-out position. Ensuite bedroom provided in the main house.
Hours
Core hours – 14:00 – 20:00 during term term, with additional hours in the day for laundry and cooking.
Working days – flexible and depending on school pick-up logistics. One weekend a month and up to two overnights per month (although rarely required).
Location
Near Cheltenham (GL6), Gloucestershire.
Salary
£45,000 – £55,000, depending on experience.
