Live-in Housekeeper/Nanny
Overview
A proactive and experienced Live-in Housekeeper / Nanny is required for a professional family of four based in Battersea, London, UK.
This is a hands-on, varied position combining high-standard housekeeping, confident family cooking, and morning childcare duties before the full-time Nanny comes on duty. Cooking is a significant and valued part of the role.
The successful candidate will be flexible, self-motivated, and capable of adapting to the changing needs of the household, including providing occasional weekend cover and travel within Europe when required.
The family has two young children and employs a dedicated Nanny. They are looking for someone child-friendly, calm, and capable, who is comfortable supporting with childcare at key times and working as part of a collaborative household team.
Job duties
Responsibilities of the Live-in Housekeeper / Nanny in Battersea include:
- All standard housekeeping duties, including cleaning, tidying and organisation
- Laundry, ironing, and wardrobe care
- Family cooking daily for two adults and two young children
- Morning childcare duties, including helping with the children’s routine before the Nanny starts (e.g., breakfast, getting ready for the day)
- Supporting the smooth and efficient running of the household
- Working collaboratively with the full-time Nanny and parents
- Willingness to assist wherever needed to support the family
- Offering flexibility, including occasional weekend cover when required
- Occasional babysitting on Saturdays, when required
- Create a welcoming environment for family and guests, who regularly visit/stay
Candidates must be / have:
- Proven experience in a similar Housekeeper/Nanny position or similar within a private household
- A confident, capable family cook
- Child-friendly, warm and comfortable caring for young children
- Strong communication skills with a good level of spoken English
- Physically fit, energetic and hands-on
- Flexible, adaptable and willing to travel when required
- Approachable, discreet and happy to become part of a professional family household
- Proactive and use initiative
Accommodation
A self-contained single bedroom with ensuite bathroom and private kitchen.
Hours
Full-time, six days per week (Monday – Saturday).
Days off are mid-week and may vary. Flexible hours from 06:30, with a long daytime break. Occasional Sunday work required, with time off in lieu.

Salary
£45,000 – £55,000 depending on experience and prior earnings.
