Live-in Weekend Housekeeper/Cook
Overview
A welcoming and highly organised household in Primrose Hill is seeking an experienced and reliable Live-in Weekend Housekeeper/Cook to maintain the home to an excellent standard and prepare simple, healthy family meals.
This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys creating a calm and comfortable environment, and can work independently with discretion and initiative.
There are no pets and no childcare is involved.
Job duties
Responsibilities of the Live-in Weekend Housekeeper/Cook in Primrose Hill, include:
- Carry out all general housekeeping duties, including cleaning, laundry, ironing, pressing, and wardrobe management
- Prepare and cook fresh, light, family-style meals on Sundays; marinate or prepare ingredients in advance as required
- Lay and serve at table to a high standard and assist with informal entertaining when needed
- Provide turndown service and perform a full weekend reset of the household
- Manage household linen, cleaning products, and stock levels, ensuring supplies are maintained and organised
- Pack and unpack for travel as required
- When the principals are travelling, take full charge of the property, performing deep cleaning, stock rotation, and household upkeep to ensure the home is always guest-ready
- Use initiative to suggest improvements or replenishments that enhance the household’s smooth running
- Maintain a high level of discretion, reliability, and professionalism at all times
Candidates must be/have:
- Proven experience in private households of a high standard, ideally in long term roles
- Energetic, fit, and detail-oriented, with a strong work ethic and pride in presentation
- Excellent cook, confident preparing simple, healthy, family-style meals
- Highly organised, able to manage all aspects of weekend housekeeping independently
- Well-presented, discreet, and able to take instruction while working autonomously
- Comfortable using an iPhone for communication, lists, and household ordering
- Fluent in spoken and written English, with excellent communication skills
- Must be available year-round when the principals are in residence; holidays can only be taken when the family is away
Accommodation
A private ensuite bedroom is provided for Friday and Saturday nights only.
The Housekeeper will have access to a kitchen during breaks but must provide their own food.
Hours
Approximately 22 – 28 hours per weekend, varying with the household’s schedule.
- Friday – Typically 7pm–10pm/11pm (later when entertaining)
- Saturday – Around 11am start – full day through to turndown
- Sunday – From approximately 10am, finishing by 7pm
Flexibility is essential and these hours will and can vary.

Salary
£25 per hour, paid weekly or monthly by agreement.
