Live-out Housekeeper
Overview
A private family is seeking a discreet and experienced Live-out Housekeeper to manage their beautiful Marylebone Village townhouse in London.
The home is mostly occupied by one adult family member, with the Principals spending part of the year abroad. Even when unoccupied, the residence must be maintained to the highest standards, reflecting the family’s refined lifestyle.
Job duties
Responsibilities of the Live-out Housekeeper in Marylebone Village, include:
- Maintain the residence to impeccable standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout all floors and rooms
- Full laundry care, including washing, ironing, steaming, and wardrobe organisation
- Pack and unpack for the family, ensuring clothing and personal items are correctly stored
- Prepare light meals or refreshments when the family is in residence
- Care for high-end furnishings, antiques, and delicate fabrics using appropriate techniques
- Oversee the smooth daily running of the home and assist with ad-hoc requests
- Identify maintenance issues and coordinate access for contractors, liaising with other household staff as needed
- Manage grocery shopping, household errands, and restocking of cleaning and laundry supplies
Candidates must be/have:
- Proven experience in high-end private households, ideally supporting HNW or UHNW families
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to the highest housekeeping standards
- Ability to work independently in a large home and manage workload efficiently
- Previous experience in yachting or hospitality is desirable but not essential
- Flexible approach to working hours to accommodate the family’s schedule
- Discreet, professional, and polished manner at all times
- Collaborative mindset, capable of working with other staff and taking initiative
Accommodation
This is a live-out position; no accommodation is provided.
Hours
Full-time, five days per week.
Typical shifts: 10:00–18:00 or 12:00–20:00, rotating weekly with another housekeeper.
Weekend work is required on a rota basis when the Principals are in residence; otherwise, the role is Monday to Friday, with flexibility to suit the family’s schedule.
