Nanny
Overview
Our client and his wife are seeking a calm, mature, and devoted professional Nanny to provide exceptional care for their 14-month-old daughter. The role is live-out, with accommodation provided nearby to the family homes and during travel periods.
This is a shared care role, as the mother works part-time and values hands-on parenting. The family is deeply committed to early childhood development, embracing the Montessori philosophy to foster curiosity and independence. No screen time is allowed during working hours, ensuring a rich, interactive environment for their little one.
Beyond Switzerland, this role comes with frequent international travel, as the family enjoy spending time in New York in the Spring and Autumn, and on their yacht in the Summer. There is no need for the Nanny to be able to drive.
To ensure seamless, round-the-clock care, this position is part of a well-structured two Nanny team.
Job duties
Responsibilities of the Live-out Nanny for 14-month-old girl in Switzerland include:
- Full Nanny duties, including preparing nutritiously balanced meals for the child
- Providing a nurturing and stimulating environment
- Supporting early childhood development with a focus on Montessori principles
- Managing daily routines, from wake-up (06:15-07:15) to bath/bedtime (~19:00)
- Accompanying the family on frequent international travel
- Working collaboratively with other household staff, including private chefs, housekeepers, and drivers
Candidates must be/have:
- Minimum of five years of experience with children aged between 1-2 years
- A mature, professional demeanour with high energy levels
- A calm and firm yet nurturing approach
- Passionate about childcare and committed to a long-term position
- Highly discreet and able to work well within a larger household team
- Background in Montessori or Early Years education preferred
- Fluent in English plus at least one of German, French, or Italian
- Must hold an EU passport, Swiss residency, or Swiss citizenship
Accommodation
A separate apartment, located near the family homes (Andermatt and Zurich), will be provided. All utilities will be covered by the family.
Accommodation will also be provided during travel.
Hours
Up to 50 hours per week, 5 days per week, with staggered start times on overlapping days.
Location
Predominantly in Andermatt and Zurich, with around eight weeks of the year spent in the US and Europe.
Salary
CHF 90,000 – 140,000 gross per year. Depending on experience/prior earnings.
