Maintenance Person


A dynamic and creative family are looking for an experienced Maintenance Person to oversee day to day maintenance tasks across the family’s property portfolio. The successful candidate will need to have a flexible attitude, although the family will not be unreasonable in their requests. The Maintenance Person will report to the Estate Director and/or Team Manager with direct communication with the Principals.

This can either be as a live-in or live-out role for the right person.

Job duties:

Responsibilities of the Maintenance Person include, but are not limited to:

  • Completing all day-to-day maintenance tasks to the highest possible standard
  • Preparing annual and quinquennial maintenance plans and budgeting
  • Overseeing the asset register and arranging annual services
  • Maintenance of heating and boiler checks, including ground source and / or air source heat pump, thermostats, and underfloor heating
  • Leading on all maintenance of electronic systems and equipment, including air conditioning, televisions, alarms, phones, and WiFi related items, and all fire and security systems
  • Work with, instruct and manage all external contractors on site
  • Undertake annual maintenance inspection for budgeting purposes
  • Complete weekly house checks (water, heating, lights, electrics, gas, toilets, lamps, WiFi, etc.) and keep in good repair
  • Complete weekly ground checks (CCTV, electric car chargers, gates, control panals, drains, water meter, bridges, fences, roads etc.) and keep in good repair
  • Maintain the gutters and clean and inspect all windows including the skylights
  • Check and maintain the family boat
  • Complete all internal and external painting when required
  • Clean and service the bikes
  • Maintain garden terraces including removing any fallen leaves and keep irrigation facilities in good repair

In addition to day-to-day maintenance, you will also be required to complete adhoc driving duties:

  • Complete family driving as required
  • Wash and fuel family and staff vehicles
  • Ensure all vehicles are up to date with MOT, services, etc

Candidates must be/have:

  • An upbeat and proactive attitude
  • Common sense and takes initiative
  • Appropriate electrician qualifications, would be a plus
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Excellent, checkable references from employers


The role has the option to be either live-in or live-out. If live-in, separate one-bedroom accommodation will be provided on the Virginia Water estate.


Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:30pm.

Occasional evening / weekend work may be required. Minimum of three days in Virginia Water and two days in London each week.


Primarily based at Virginia Water and required to complete maintenance tasks at four properties in Central London – all based within 15-minute drive of each other.


£40,000 – £45,000 – live-in

£45,000 – £50,000 – live-out
