Private Chef (Asian Culinary Specialist)
Overview
We’re seeking an experienced Private Chef with a specialism in Asian cuisine to join a large private household in Tashkent, cooking for two principals and one child. This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned private chef to bring authentic, high-level Asian cooking into an established household team, delivering exceptional, varied cuisine to the highest standard.
The successful candidate will bring a minimum of seven years’ experience working within private residences, with deep expertise across Asian culinary traditions alongside a strong grounding in menu planning, dietary requirements, and the discretion and professionalism expected in a principal household.
This is a live-in option with accommodation provided offsite.
Job duties
Responsibilities of the Private Chef in Tashkent, Uzbekistan:
- Extensive experience preparing a wide variety of breakfasts, lunches, dinners, snacks, and healthy meals for both children and adults, with particular strength across Asian cuisines
- Confident, authentic technique across Asian cooking styles, from delicate sushi and sashimi preparation to wok cookery, noodle dishes, curries, and regional specialities
- Ability to create diverse, ever-changing menus, seamlessly blending Asian dishes with international cuisine, and to introduce new dishes regularly
- Strong knowledge of international cuisines more broadly, with confidence preparing dishes from around the world alongside the Asian specialism
- Experience sourcing and working with high-quality, organic ingredients and premium produce, including specialist Asian pantry items
- Understanding of the standards, discretion, flexibility, and attention to detail required in a private household
- Must have previous experience working with Russian families, as culinary preferences and expectations may be similar
- Ability to assist with planning and executing events and family gatherings, including Asian-themed menus for entertaining
- Creative, proactive, and capable of working independently while maintaining exceptionally high standards
The household kitchen team includes:
- 1 Head Private Chef
- 1 Private Chef (this position)
- 3 Chef Assistants
- 2 Dishwashers
Candidates must be/have:
- Minimum 7 years’ experience working in a private household as a Private Chef
- Proven specialism in Asian cuisine, ideally with training or professional experience in an Asian kitchen (e.g. Michelin-starred, high-end restaurant, or private household setting)
- A hardworking team-player
- Experienced in a variety of cuisines beyond the Asian specialism
Accommodation
Separate accommodation / apartment provided.
Hours
5–6 days per week, approximately 10–12 hours per day, depending on household requirements.
Salary
