Retainer SEN Nanny

Overview

Our client is looking for an experienced and professional Retainer SEN Nanny with a mature approach, to work on a retainer basis for three children, aged 9, 7 and 3 years.

The role requires the Retainer Nanny to be available to cover any sickness, as well as holiday cover for the children’s existing Rota Nannies.

The household is fully staffed and have two dogs. A car driver is not required.

Start date: May/June.

Job duties:

Responsibilities of the Retainer Nanny in Knightsbridge:

  • Provide attentive and nurturing care for three children in a private household setting
  • Create a safe, stimulating, and supportive environment for the children’s physical, emotional, and social development
  • Plan and engage in age-appropriate activities, games, and outings to promote learning and development
  • Assist with daily routines such as feeding and bedtime
  • Monitor children’s health and well-being, including administering medication if necessary
  • Foster positive behaviour and manners through consistent discipline and positive reinforcement
  • Assist with homework assignments and school projects
  • Facilitate educational activities and provide educational resources to enhance learning at home
  • Encourage curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning through exploration and discovery
  • Maintain a tidy and organised environment in children’s living spaces, including bedrooms, play areas, and common areas
  • Plan and prepare nutritious meals and snacks for the children, following any dietary restrictions or preferences
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks related to childcare, such as children’s laundry, washing dishes used during childcare activities, and tidying up after meals and activities
  • Maintain open and transparent communication with parents regarding the children’s daily activities, progress, and any concerns or issues that arise
  • Collaborate with parents to establish and maintain consistent routines and parenting strategies
  • Coordinate and communicate with other household staff members, such as housekeepers or drivers, as needed
  • Safely transport the children to and from school, extracurricular activities, appointments, and outings as required

Candidates must be/have:

  • Experience working with children of a similar age in a HNW Private Household
  • SEN experience, specifically those with ASC and ADHD
  • Experience of working as a Retainer/Rota nanny
  • High level of organisation and communication
  • A team player
  • A good level of autonomy and initiative

Accommodation

Accommodation will be provided whilst on shift – comprising of own bedroom and bathroom either within the family home or within the nanny apartment.

Hours

Flexible hours, working around 150 days a year.

The Retainer Nanny needs to be happy to travel as there is travel both to Europe and internationally during the school holidays.

When on duty – during school hours for the older children – the Retainer Nanny will be expected to keep up with administrative duties and planning for evenings, weekends and holidays.

Salary

£70,000 (rising to £75,000 after probation).
