Rota Nanny (Norland-trained)

Overview

Our client is seeking a Norland-qualified Rota Nanny to join their large household in South Kensington. The family has four children, aged one to nine, with a primary focus of the Rota Nanny being the care of the younger two children, aged one and five.

The family are looking for a highly organised, proactive team player with excellent communication skills. Responsibilities include managing the children’s busy schedules and activities, overseeing school-related communications (including WhatsApp groups), and ensuring the children’s rooms, play areas, and wardrobes are always tidy and well-organised. The older two children are in school until the afternoon, with a dedicated Tutor on weekdays to assist with their homework.

The position offers the chance to collaborate with a dedicated team of Nannies, Tutors, and other household staff, all working together to uphold the family’s high standards of care, organisation, and efficiency.

Job duties

Responsibilities of Rota Nanny (Norland-trained) in South Kensington include:

  • Provide primary care for the younger two children, aged one and five
  • Organise and supervise the children’s daily routines
  • Foster a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment for the children’s emotional and developmental growth
  • Take charge of children’s health and wellbeing
  • Manage and coordinate the children’s busy schedules, ensuring all appointments, extracurricular activities, and playdates are organised
  • Oversee the children’s school communication (WhatsApp groups, school notes) and keep the family updated on any developments or requirements
  • Take responsibility for maintaining children’s rooms, play areas, and wardrobes to ensure they are tidy, well-organised, and well-stocked with essentials
  • Manage the children’s clothing, including seasonal changes, organising, and rotating clothes, and making sure the children have appropriate outfits for school and activities
  • Work closely with other Nannies, Housekeepers, Tutors, and the Chauffeur, maintaining open communication
  • Assist with light housekeeping related to the children, including cleaning up after meals and organising toys
  • Occasionally run errands for the children, including purchasing supplies or coordinating travel for activities or family outings
  • When travelling, the Rota Nanny will be responsible for taking care of the four children

Candidates must be/have:

  • A Norland College qualification
  • Strong experience in a similar, fully staffed household
  • Highly organised, proactive, and good natured
  • Experience of frequent travel with a family
  • Happy to work with dogs
  • A fluent German speaker – would be desirable

Hours

One week on/off or 10 days on/off. 07:00 – 19:00.

Location

South Kensington, London.

Salary

£90,000, depending on experience
