Senior Housekeeper
Overview
We are seeking an exceptional Senior Housekeeper to join a friendly, informal household in Marylebone, where discretion, efficiency, and flexibility are key. The successful candidate will be responsible for running the property efficiently, ensuring that all tasks are completed, and the property is maintained and prepared to the highest standards when the Principal is in residence. A focus on quality, attention to detail, and proactive management of the property will be key.
This role is all about autonomy and initiative, and the household should run seamlessly with minimal disruption. You will need to be comfortable working solo, executing a variety of tasks, and ensuring that property is well cared for in a very discreet manner.
Job duties
Responsibilities of the Senior Housekeeper near Marylebone including:
- Ensure that high standards of cleanliness are maintained throughout the property
- Manage daily and weekly cleaning schedules, ensuring the property remains in pristine condition even during the Principal’s absence
- Maintain discretion and uphold the Principal’s privacy at all times
- Organise and oversee seasonal tasks such as deep cleaning, window cleaning, and gutter maintenance
- Monitor and manage systems like Creston and HVAC, ensuring regular checks and maintenance are carried out as required
- Supervise and arrange for any necessary maintenance or repairs, liaising with trusted contractors when needed
- Oversee the property’s shopping needs, maintain records of purchases, and ensure supplies are stocked and replenished
- Manage household IT and smart home systems, ensuring everything is functioning smoothly
- Coordinate with other staff in international properties to ensure smooth operation of the Principal’s household matters across locations
- Provide support with errands, event coordination, and any special requests as necessary
- Ensure that all household tasks are performed with efficiency and that the overall operation of the household is seamless
Candidates must be/have:
- A self-starter with the ability to work independently, take initiative, and resolve issues before they arise
- Able to maintain a low profile, working behind the scenes to ensure the property runs smoothly without being noticed
- Efficient and able to follow clear instructions, prioritising tasks and maintaining routine without needing supervision
- Flexible and comfortable stepping into various roles – assisting where needed
- Possessing common sense and a pragmatic approach, able to anticipate needs and act without needing guidance
- Organised and detail-oriented, ensuring all aspects of the household are well-managed and in excellent condition
- A professional, mature individual with a can-do attitude who is easy to work with and knows how to contribute positively to the household atmosphere
- A team player who respects authority, can follow direction, and enjoys working with others to keep the household running efficiently

None provided, this is a live-out position and candidates must live within a reasonable commute from Marylebone, London.
Hours
Full-time, Monday to Friday.
Very occasional evenings or weekend hours may be needed but not very often.

Salary
Up to £65,000, depending on experience.
