Travelling House Manager

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Travelling House Manager to oversee the efficient and professional management of a busy private household in Central London.

The role will be predominantly based in London, with additional responsibilities for properties in Gstaad and Geneva. This position requires a hands-on approach to managing household staff, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation, and ensuring the seamless functioning of multiple residences.

The household consists of a family with four children and has a warm and friendly atmosphere, although understanding boundaries is essential. You will work closely with an Assistant House Manager/Head Housekeeper and a small team of Housekeepers and a Houseman to ensure the smooth operation of the household.

Job duties:

Responsibilities of the Travelling House Manager in Central London:

  • Manage household staff, including Housekeepers, and have some involvement with the nanny team, ensuring their duties are carried out efficiently and professionally
  • Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and organisation throughout the London residence and other properties
  • Supervise the overall maintenance and upkeep of the properties, including scheduling contractors for maintenance, repairs, and services
  • Ensure the seamless functioning of the homes while liaising with contractors and organising events, such as family dinners, house parties, and seasonal celebrations
  • Perform butler duties, as required
  • Act as a Personal Assistant to the female principal, including managing her day-to-day calendar, personal shopping, and travel planning
  • Handle household finances and expense tracking
  • Manage household inventories, including household supplies and equipment
  • Handle correspondence
  • Possess strong organisational and leadership skills, and have an exceptional attention to detail

Candidates must be/have:

  • Strong experience working in a similar role
  • Knowledge of household technologies, security systems, and maintenance procedures
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a calm and proactive mindset
  • Discreet and always remain confidential
  • Tech-savvy and ideally have a background in entertainment, fashion or hospitality industry
  • Be a team player with a gentle disposition
  • Love animals as the household includes pets
  • Be familiar with the London scene
  • A full, clean driving licence

Hours

Full-time position.

Monday to Friday 10:00 – 18:00 (with the flexibility to work irregular hours and weekends when required).

Location

Based in London with the flexibility to travel within the EU, when required.

Salary

£70,000 – £80,000
