Temporary Home-School Tutor
Overview
A private family is looking for an exceptional tutor to guide their three children, aged 11, 10 and 6, through an exciting few months of learning across two cities. The role begins in London in December 2026, where the family will be based until February 2027, before moving back to their home in Athens. They plan to return to London for Easter 2027.
The children are bright, curious and enthusiastic learners who love discovering new things and do best with lessons that spark their imagination. Job duties
Responsibilities of the Home-school Tutor in London and Athens, include:
London
- Take full responsibility for home-schooling all three children (aged 11, 10 and 6), following their school’s British curriculum
- Ensure each child remains fully up-to-date with their academic programme
- Work alongside the family’s education adviser, who will provide support where required
Athens
- Provide academic support, consolidation and enrichment alongside the children’s normal schooling
Throughout
- Bring learning to life through creative, engaging and innovative teaching methods
- Plan and deliver individualised programmes, adapting lessons to each child’s interests, strengths and needs
- Maintain appropriate academic structure and expectations
- Work collaboratively with the family and the wider household team, including the Rota Nannies
Candidates must be / have:
- Qualified and experienced in teaching the British curriculum
- Confident teaching children across primary and early secondary age groups
- Creative, enthusiastic and able to make learning engaging
- Well organised, with the ability to plan and deliver an effective individualised programme
- Warm, patient and encouraging, while maintaining academic structure and expectations
- Flexible and comfortable working within a busy, fully staffed private household
- Able to travel between London and Athens
- Comfortable around dogs – the family has a dog at their Athens home
Accommodation
Accommodation is available in both London and Athens if required, although a London based tutor would be preferred.
Contract and Hours
December 2026 – April 2027, with potential for extension.
London: Approximately 8 hours per day, five days per week.
Athens: Approximately 3 hours per day after school, plus one day at the weekend.

Salary
Competitive salary, dependent on experience.
