Nanny
Overview
Our client is looking for an experienced and nurturing Nanny to become a trusted presence in their two-year-old daughter’s life. This is a live-out role, with accommodation provided near the family home and throughout all travel periods.
The mother works part-time and is hands-on with her daughter’s care, so a collaborative approach is key. The family follow the Montessori philosophy and prioritise screen-free, imaginative play and meaningful interaction.
Beyond Switzerland, the family spend their springs and autumns in New York and summers aboard their yacht — offering a varied and enriching lifestyle. The role is working as part of a structured two Nanny team to ensure seamless, round-the-clock care.
Job duties
Responsibilities of the Nanny for 2 year old girl in Switzerland plus travel, include:
- Full nanny duties, including preparing nutritiously balanced meals for the child
- Providing a nurturing and stimulating environment
- Supporting early childhood development with a focus on Montessori principles
- Managing daily routines, from wake-up (06:15-07:15) to bath/bedtime (~19:00)
- Accompanying the family on frequent international travel
- Working collaboratively with other household staff, including private chefs, housekeepers, and drivers
Candidates must be/have:
- Minimum of 10 years of Nanny experience with toddlers, or a Maternity Nurse with experience working with toddlers
- A mature, professional demeanour with high energy levels
- Must hold an EU passport, Swiss residency, or Swiss citizenship
- A calm and firm yet nurturing approach
- Passionate about childcare and committed to a long-term position
- Highly discreet and able to work well within a larger household team
- Background in Montessori or Early Years education preferred
- Fluent in English (plus at least one of German, French, or Italian – would be desirable)
Accommodation
A separate apartment, located near the family homes (Andermatt and Zurich), will be provided. All utilities will be covered by the family.
Accommodation will also be provided during travel.
Hours
Up to 50 hours per week, 5 days per week, with staggered start times on overlapping days.
Location
Predominantly in Andermatt and Zurich, with around eight weeks of the year spent in the US and Europe.
Salary
CHF 90,000 – 140,000 gross per year. Depending on experience/prior earnings.
