Live-out Housekeeper
Overview
A private family home in Chelsea, London, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented housekeeper. The property spans just over 3,000 square feet across four floors and is home to a 20-month-old daughter and a small dog. A nanny is also employed within the household.
The family are well-organised and have high standards; they will personally oversee the handover and training process to ensure their systems and preferences are communicated clearly from the outset. The right candidate will take genuine pride in their work, manage the home with quiet efficiency, and integrate seamlessly into the existing household team.
The family are travelling over the summer, making a September start the most practical point of transition, though they are open to an earlier start should the right candidate be available.
Job duties
Responsibilities of the Housekeeper in Chelsea, include:
- Full housekeeping of a four-floor, 3,000+ sq ft Chelsea property to an impeccable standard
- Daily cleaning, tidying and maintenance of all rooms including living areas, kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms
- Wardrobe management and garment care, including laundering, ironing, steaming and seasonal organisation
- Establishing and maintaining organisational systems throughout the home
- Grocery shopping, household errands and management of household supplies
- Liaising with contractors, delivery teams and other service providers as required
- Working comfortably alongside a toddler and a small dog in the day-to-day running of the home
- Collaborating with the nanny and other household staff as part of a cohesive team
- Reporting maintenance issues and managing their resolution proactively
Candidates must be/have:
- Proven experience as a private housekeeper in a high-standard household
- Strong command of English, both written and spoken
- Physically fit and comfortable working across a four-floor property
- Exceptionally detail-oriented with high personal standards
- Trustworthy, discreet and professional at all times
- Comfortable working in a home with a toddler and a small dog
- Experienced in wardrobe management and garment care
- Confident in establishing and maintaining household organisational systems
- A team player who works well alongside existing household staff
- Right to work in the UK
- Excellent references from previous private household positions
Accommodation
This is a live-out position. Accommodation is not provided.
Hours
40 hours per week, Monday – Friday.
Location
Chelsea, London.
Salary
£55,000 per annum, paid monthly under an employed contract.
