Live-out Housekeeper
Overview
We are seeking an experienced, reliable and highly organised Live-out Housekeeper to support a private family across their residences in the Marylebone and Fitzrovia area.
The main property is a 3-bedroom apartment in Marylebone, used by the family during residence periods of approximately 3–4 months per year. When the family are not in residence, housekeeping support will extend to a small number of additional properties nearby, requiring lighter maintenance and upkeep.
This is a varied and fast-paced role when the family are in residence, as the household includes four children (no childcare duties required). The ideal candidate will be calm, proactive and capable of working independently, maintaining exceptionally high standards at all times.
Job duties
Responsibilities of the Live-out Housekeeper in Marylebone and Fitzrovia, include:
- All general housekeeping duties to a high standard
- Daily cleaning, tidying and upkeep of the main residence and additional properties
- Maintaining presentation and cleanliness across multiple Marylebone/Fitzrovia properties
- Liaising with and overseeing household contractors when required
- Basic meal preparation and simple home cooking
- Unpacking and organising grocery deliveries
- Ironing and wardrobe care
- Ensuring all areas of the home are consistently well-maintained and presentable
- Adapting workload depending on whether the family is in residence or away
- Supporting smooth day-to-day household operations during busy family stays
- No childcare duties are required.
Candidates must be / have:
- Proven experience as a private housekeeper in a similar high-standard household
- Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining immaculate homes
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple properties
- Proactive and able to work independently without constant direction
- Calm and efficient in a busy household environment
- Flexible and adaptable to changing schedules and requirements
- Comfortable working around a family with children (without childcare responsibility)
- Discreet, trustworthy and respectful of privacy
- Good communication skills when dealing with contractors and household support
- Personality fit is very important:
- Quiet and unobtrusive approach
- Not overly dependent on instruction
- Capable of “seeing what needs doing” and acting accordingly
Location
Live-out role based in Marylebone, London.
Responsibilities will also include nearby properties in the Marylebone and Fitzrovia areas.
Hours
When family is in residence: 12:00 – 20:30/21:00 (approx. 8.5–9 hours daily)
Another housekeeper covers 08:00 – 11:00.
When the family are not in residence: More flexible hours, with reduced workload across properties
Flexibility is essential during residency periods.
Salary
£45,000 – £50,000, DOE.
