Nanny / Family Assistant
Overview
We are seeking an exceptional full-time Live-out Nanny / Family Assistant to support an active father and his two active and outdoorsy boys, ages 6 and 7.
The boys attend school on Mercer Island, Washington, while their father is primarily based in Eastern Washington. This is a full-time role for someone who genuinely loves working with children, enjoys an active lifestyle, is comfortable travelling, and thrives with independence, flexibility, and good judgement.
The position centres on Dad’s parenting time in Seattle/Bellevue and Eastern Washington, alongside day-to-day childcare when Dad is working. This is first and foremost a childcare position, and the right person will build a genuine, steady relationship with the boys while confidently managing the practical details around their care.
Job duties
Responsibilities of the Nanny/Family Assistant near Seattle, include:
- Provide attentive, engaged, and dependable full-time care for two boys, ages 6 and 7
- Build a warm, trusting relationship with both children
- Manage school pickups, drop-offs, and daily transportation
- Oversee morning and bedtime routines, meals, clothing, and school items
- Plan and join age-appropriate activities, sports, and outdoor adventures
- Support Dad’s weekly and every-other-weekend parenting time in Seattle/Bellevue and Eastern Washington
- Accompany the boys on private flights between Seattle and Eastern Washington
- Travel with the family for extended parenting periods, holidays, and family trips
- Keep the boys’ rooms, clothing, gear, and supplies organised and stocked
- Help with the family puppy, including feeding, walks, and everyday care
- Anticipate needs and take initiative without requiring close direction
- Communicate closely with Dad and support his parenting approach
Candidates must be/have:
- Warm, upbeat, patient, and genuinely fond of children
- Experienced and confident caring for school-age children
- Highly dependable, punctual, and proactive
- Organised, calm, and adaptable when plans change
- An excellent communicator, discreet and trustworthy
- Active, outdoors-oriented, and comfortable with dogs
- A confident, safe driver
- Comfortable with private aviation and frequent family travel
- Willing to be based full-time around the family’s Seattle/Bellevue and Eastern Washington schedule, including every-other-weekend and extended holiday periods
- Able to work independently and take ownership without micromanagement
Accommodation
Private accommodation will be provided during periods of travel.
Hours
Full-time.
A core weekly schedule built around Dad’s parenting time: Wednesday afternoon through Thursday morning, every other weekend (Friday to Sunday) in Eastern Washington, plus two full weeks each summer and one week over the holidays. Remaining weekdays cover regular childcare, school runs, and family logistics.
Specific days off and scheduling will be confirmed with the successful candidate.
Location
Based in the Seattle/Bellevue area, with regular travel to Eastern Washington (Quincy/Crescent Bar and Yakima) and periodic family travel.
Applicants will ideally live within a commutable distance of Seattle/Bellevue.
Salary
$80,000 – $120,000, depending on experience.
A vehicle, travel expenses, and accommodation whilst travelling with the family are provided.
