Part-time Family Driver
Overview
We are assisting a private family with the search for an experienced and reliable Part-time Family Driver to support their busy household from Tuesday – Saturday.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the family’s regular school runs, transporting the children to and from activities, occasional evening collections and other ad hoc driving requirements as needed. The children’s school is approximately 45–60 minutes from the family home depending on traffic, so the ideal candidate will be comfortable with longer journeys, navigating London traffic and allowing sufficient time to ensure the children arrive safely and punctually.
This would suit a professional, dependable driver who enjoys working with children and is looking for a consistent part-time family position.
Job duties
Responsibilities of the Part-time Family Driver in Chelsea, include:
- Manage regular school runs, allowing sufficient time for traffic and unexpected delays
- Drive the children to and from after-school activities, clubs and appointments
- Undertake occasional evening pick-ups when required
- Provide ad hoc driving support for the family as needed
- Ensure the children are comfortable, safe and settled during journeys
- Assist with bags, school equipment and children’s belongings where required
- Maintain a clean, tidy and well-presented vehicle
- Plan routes in advance and remain aware of traffic and road conditions
- Communicate effectively with the family regarding timings, changes and any delays
Candidates must be/have:
- Previous experience driving children for private families
- A clean and valid UK driving licence
- Excellent knowledge of London and surrounding areas
- A safe, confident and responsible driving style
- A warm, friendly, patient and child-friendly manner
- Reliable, punctual and highly trustworthy
- Flexible and willing to assist with ad hoc driving requirements
- Well-presented and professional
- Excellent communication skills
- The ability to work discreetly and respectfully within a private family environment
Hours
Approximately 20–25 hours per week, Tuesday – Saturday.
The schedule will be provided one week in advance and will vary according to the family’s schedule, with flexibility required around school runs, activities and occasional evening collections.
Location
Chelsea, London, UK.
Salary
Hourly rate DOE, with the family happy to consider each driver’s individual hourly rate and experience. The driver may use their own suitable vehicle, if they prefer, or the family can provide a car for work purposes.
