Rota Nanny (Maternity Cover)
Overview
A dynamic and professional family in Knightsbridge is seeking an experienced and professional Nanny to cover a maternity leave of up to 12 months.
The Nanny will work on a 24-hour, 7 days on/off Rota or, alternatively, on a Retainer basis covering the Nanny team’s annual leave and any sickness.
This position involves providing dedicated care to one of the family’s three children (between 4 – 11 years) at a time, as part of a wider Nanny team. The ideal candidate will have experience in Special Educational Needs (particularly ASD/ADHD), bringing empathy, adaptability, and expertise to create a positive and nurturing environment for each child.
Job duties
Responsibilities of the Rota Nanny include:
- Provide engaging and consistent care tailored to the specific needs of each child
- Work closely within the existing Nanny team, providing support for each of the three children individually
- Ensure routines and schedules are maintained to support children’s wellbeing and development
- Maintain autonomy while effectively coordinating with other household staff
- Assist with planning and administrative tasks during school/nursery hours, including preparation for evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Accompany the family during domestic and international travel, including European and overseas destinations
Candidates must be/have:
- Previous experience working in a Rota Nanny role within a private household
- Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Adaptable, mature, and flexible approach, with experience working with children of similar ages
- SEN experience (ASD/ADHD) – would be desirable
- Comfortable with dogs, as the household includes three dogs
- Happy to travel regularly, with travel required during school holidays
Accommodation
Own bedroom and bathroom provided within the family home or in the Nanny apartment.

Hours / Work pattern
Up to 12 months maternity cover.
24-hour, 7 days on/off Rota pattern.
Salary
£70,000 (rising to £75,000 after a successful probationary period).
Pro-rata for length of maternity cover.
