Weekend Housekeeper
Overview
On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced and proactive Weekend Housekeeper for a beautiful private residence in Holland Park, West London.
The property is a stunning 7,000 sq ft, five-bedroom home and the successful candidate will take genuine pride in maintaining an exceptional standard throughout. The family – a Principal and two adult children, who are largely away at university – are looking for a trusted, long-term placement with consistent weekend hours.
A love of animals is essential; the family have dogs who will need care as part of the role.
Job duties
Responsibilities of the Weekend Housekeeper in Holland Park, include:
- Thorough cleaning and maintenance of all areas across the 7,000 sq ft, five-bedroom residence to an impeccably high standard
- Making beds and changing bed linens and bath towels
- Collecting, washing, ironing and returning laundry to the appropriate place
- Managing wardrobes and arranging dry-cleaning as required
- Cleaning interior windows, mirrors and glass surfaces
- Keeping kitchens, bathrooms and reception rooms spotless
- Caring for the family dogs, including feeding, walking and general day-to-day pet welfare
- Watering household plants
- Managing deliveries and answering the door as required
- Maintaining stock of cleaning and household supplies, notifying the Principal when items need replenishing
- Notifying the Principal promptly of anything requiring repair or attention
- Keeping patios, steps and external entrances clean and tidy
- Carrying out any other reasonable household tasks as requested by the Principal
No cooking is required.
Candidates must be/have:
- Previous experience as a housekeeper in a large private residence
- A genuine love of dogs and hands-on experience of pet care
- Trustworthy, discreet and professional at all times
- Highly organised, reliable and punctual — particularly important in a weekend role
- Energetic and physically comfortable maintaining a large property
- Attentive to detail with consistently high standards
- Proactive — able to identify what needs doing and act without being prompted
- A calm, positive presence in a family home
- Excellent references from previous private household employers
- The right to work in the UK
Hours
Saturday and Sunday, 08:30 – 17:30.
Additional weekday hours are available by negotiation.

Holland Park, London.
Salary
£25 per hour.
